No, those characters won't work due to AGS not supporting extended characters.

Heyah,
I do realize I'm bringing this up a little late ... I was just wondering if anybody has translated or is translating this game into Finnish. If not, I might be interested in the task. The special characters should not be a problem since the German translation already uses ä and ö. Quotation marks, however, seem to appear as little blank boxes in the German subs – are there limitations to the kind of punctuation marks that can be used?
Thanks!

Welcome to the Forums DSelen!
Actually when i played with the AGS, it seemed that some characters like " and # had problems to be written correctly. I used an old version of AGS, maybe you upgrade yourself to the newest?
Greg or Bigbrother may help you further.

Yeah I'm pretty disappointed in AGS's extended character support... seems like it's only best at romance languages.

Belial: Thanks for the welcome I have to check that version thing.
Greg: I take it that as nobody has then translated the game into Finnish yet. I probably wasn't clear enough in my previous post, sorry about that: our language only has two (well, actually three, but I doubt I would use any words with å) special characters, ä and ö. The German version already uses those, although they are not technically the same letter because the pronunciation is different and... *smacks herself* sorry, inner linguist taking over So what I'm saying that if nobody is going to stop me, I'm gonna go ahead and start the translation. *cue dramatic music*

Hello, I know is late, but I wanted to know if there is anyone trying to translate it in Spanish. Doesn't have any strange things in my language and won't be a problem.
Can anyone say me how long will take, more or less, to do this job.
Thank you for all, I just started the first part, and I'm happy that a third one is coming!!!

Hei, I have began to translate in Spanish I hope nobody is doing it and some cares about it. I have a question, I don't understand what you mean when you put this in the translation : THESE ONLY NEED TO BE TRANSLATED IF YOU ARE USING A LUCASARTS-STYLE STATUS LINE Can you explain me?
I have done near 25% by now. Lets go work

Since the deluxe version has no changes in the gameplay or puzzles... why fan made translations other than the three supported were not transported in the deluxe version as well?
I was speaking about the Italian one, especially.
cheers.
